2008 KWVA National Election Candidate More Info

Candidate:

James E. Ferris

From Chapter:
NY 105 - Central New York
For Office of:
1st Vice President

My Fellow Korean War Veterans:

The election issue of the Graybeards will be out shortly, I urge you to read each and every resume, and to vote for a candidate that you know will serve the KWVA with honor, pride, integrity, and resourcefulness.  Look at their qualifications as managers of such a large Veterans Association.  They have all served their Country and have served it well, that is a given priority, next is their ability to manage and lead.

I have decided to place my name in nomination as First Vice President.  I have served in many capacities since I became a charter member of the National KWVA.  The following are a few examples:

I have dedicated my time and my managerial skills to these jobs, and I know I have done my best to see to it that I have not let the KWVA down.

I believe new and younger people must be recruited into the KWVA.  If this is not done, then our organization cannot fulfill the obligation and the dreams that Bill Norris and others had in mind when forming this organization .

The first and foremost reason for their forming the KWVA was to make sure that the American People never forget the some 54,000 men and women we lost in this tragic war.  That is our number one concern; keep the American people mindful of the sacrifice these people made.  If we do not do this then we cannot truly be members of the KWVA.  It is our duty to keep this organization going on long after we, the original Korean War Veterans, are history.

I believe that full disclosure of our finances to members in good standing should be a priority and should be included in our bylaws.

I believe all members should be held to a code of conduct that makes us unique in Veterans organizations as surely we are now.

I believe our Officers should be visible to other agencies such as Congress, Senate and governmental agencies that are necessary for the good of the organization.

I believe that we should maintain the partnership that we now have with the South Korean Government and the International Korean War Veterans Association that is made up of the UN Countries who joined us in the Korean War.

There are many other items that I would like to describe to you but space and time do not allow.

I ask all of you to please support me if you will, and please vote.   Who you vote for is your business but please VOTE.

Thank you all for your support in the past and I am looking forward to serving you in the future.

Please share this with your fellow members, either in your newsletters or at your meetings.

Thank you.

Jim Ferris, National 2nd Vice President
